Designer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Master in Marketing and Communications, she turned her great passion, visual art, professionally in 2007.

Marcela Krause Porter was born in the city of Concepción, in southern Chile, where art was not a priority in life. Despite this, from a very young age she felt a great passion for it, winning her first painting competition at the age of 6. Although her visual life was the most important and penetrating thing in her knowledge, the family and social expectations in which she developed did not recognize art as a good professional option.

                             

After living in different countries and appreciating different cultures, when entering university,she found herself faced with the dilemma of studying Engineering, but decided, despite any comments, to study Design at the Pontifical Catholic University of Santiago de Chile. Finally,she completed a Master's Degree in Marketing and Communications. For 11 years she worked in marketing management positions, obtaining various recognitions and reaching important clients, although she always dedicated herself to artistic work.

 

In 2008 he managed to fully dedicate her efforts to boost her career as an artist. As a result, she managed to exhibit in several countries, both in individual and collective exhibitions, and was also invited to fairs, obtaining awards and recognitions.

 

With the intention of promoting art and culture, she worked as a curator and museographer, holding several exhibitions, which include "Stop Peru", with the Peruvian embassy in Chile and "Cross the Ocean" with the Chinese embassy.

In 2016, the artist and curator founded her own art space, where her workshop and the Espacio A Gallery are located, in Las Condes, Santiago. An important milestone was the development of an artistic project together with 3 other artists, to represent their country, in the Chile Pavilion at the Dubai 2020 Universal Expo.

 

During the pandemic, like most people, she felt stuck. Additionally, she experienced various family challenges which triggered major depression.At the end of 2023 and beginning of 2024, Marcela decides to take her life back into her hands, focusing on her work, understanding that her artistic work has the power to transform and deliver the energy necessary to overcome all difficulties. Her new production carries a more social, complete, and international vision, benefiting not only her, but also her community.

 

Marcela Krause Porter's work is part of collections in more than 16 countries. Among these, 36 pieces stand out that make up the permanent collection of the corporate building of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Chile. In addition, there are large formats in buildings in Peru, New York, different cities in Chile and in the Chilean embassies in Peru and Hong Kong.

 

As founder, curator and producer, Marcela has held more than 20 cultural events in Espacio A, with national and international artists, receiving more than 1,500 visitors, generating opportunities for development and growth in the cultural scene of her country.
